EDM
Our company uses Trimble S6 total station electromagnetic distance measurement (EDM)theodolites. These are quoted to be the most technologically advanced optical total stations in the surveying industry today. The advantages this instrument bring to the job site are :-
- Single user or robotic operation. No need for a chainman.
- MagDrive servos. This enables the instrument to rotate through 180deg in 3.2sec greatly improving the speed and efficiency of robotic operation.
- Reflectorless readings up to 800m with Direct Reflect (DR) technology.
- Autocad DWG drawings input directly to the survey controller. DWG files can then be used for setting out or for survey orientation. DWG files can also be split into component layers for ease of data manipulation.
- Automated traverse measurement for high accuracy survey control.
With backup maintenance, service and support provided by Survey Solutions of Edinburgh our S6's are expertly maintained and always available to meet our clients' demands.
In the photograph below a Trimble S6 is being used to set out piles at Holy Loch Marina in Argyll. The instrument is in DR mode with the piles at a distance of 150m.
